His work is characterised by the ability to successfully articulate the visuals and the narration with the musical language as an enhancer of the film director’s intent. Juan Carlos obtained a Master in Composing for Film and TV with Distinction at Kingston University in London (2005). During the early 1990s he worked as music orchestrator for the Colombian TV and film composer Germán Arrieta. Juan Carlos moved to the UK in 1995.
The main project for his Master, was the score for the animated documentary Little Voices (Pequeñas Voces) by Eduardo Carrillo. The film won the award Anabel Andujar Alfonso (Spain, 2003) and was officially selected for the 60 Mostra Internazionale d’arte Cinematografica, Venice, Italy 2003
