Musical references occur continually in my pieces, but I attempt to incorporate them philosophically and with an element of wit and humour into a finished piece. Originating in Mexico City, reflections on life and death are the most prevalent themes of my work. A piece of wood for me contains the profound theme of life in the presence of death The concept behind the work is important, but no more important than the final visual impact. I want the pieces to be personal but also have messages of universal truths.
